De senaste dagarna har det utkämpats hårda strider mellan pro-ryska och ukrainska styrkor. På en av dagens bilder syns välutrustade ”gröna män” dessa har inte varit med på ett tag. Nu har de uppenbarligen kommit tillbaka.

ITAR-TASS: Russian servicemen, hardware to be withdrawn from regions bordering Ukraine by June 8

“The Chief of General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces said that Russian units had been returning to their permanent garrisons since May 1

“Russian troops and military hardware will be completely withdrawn from Russia’s regions adjacent to the Ukrainian border by June 8, Valery Gerasimov, the Chief of General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said at the 3rd Moscow conference on international security on Friday.

He said that Russian units had been returning to their permanent garrisons since May 19.

According to earlier reports, Russian servicemen were to be withdrawn by June 1. “No one has fixed the date of June 1,” Gerasimov said. “It will take about 20 days to transport the hardware.

On May 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu to return troops to the barracks after the scheduled spring phase of the military exercise in the Rostov, Belgorod and Bryansk regions.

“The military units are being returned in strict compliance with the initial schedule,” the Defense Ministry said, adding that June 1 was the deadline.

The routes and schedules of motor marches, train runs and flights by transport aircraft were drawn up to cause minimum inconveniences to civilian automobile, railway and air traffic.

The units that have already arrived at their permanent locations are busy with routine equipment maintenance.” http://en.itar-tass.com/world/733042

RT News: Donetsk bloodbath: Insider video shows Ukraine helicopters firing at own checkpoint

“Ukrainian helicopter gunships shot at a Ukrainian military checkpoint in Donetsk Region in the aftermath of a night battle, a video presumably shot by one of the soldiers indicates. Apparently, Kiev’s troops suffer from gross lack of communications.

The eight-minute video on YouTube was shot near the town of Volnovakha in Ukraine’s Donetsk Region, according to the description. It shows a group of armed uniformed men with Ukrainian army insignia and at least two others in civilian clothes taking cover behind a military truck.

The vehicle is at a field and the men are observing from a distance a woodland belt separating on the field border At least two vans are seen and fire burns among the trees. Sporadic gunfire can be heard, possibly from ammunition detonating in the fire, and then a massive explosion erupts at the camp. The soldiers discuss whether they should fall back.

Then two Mil Mi-24 helicopter gunships start barraging at low altitude over the area. After several passes the aircraft start barraging the burning camp from their cannons.

“What are their doing?” one of the soldiers exclaims in surprise. “Are they ours?” “Who the f*** else?” another replies.

The group hastily flees the scene, but the cameraman continues shooting the footage, cursing and praying as he runs.

A couple of minutes later he gets to another woodland belt. He approaches another Ukrainian military man, who is speaking on a mobile phone.

“Who are they shooting at?” the man says. “There are civilians and our soldiers there. Do you have a line to the army aviation, what the f*** is happening?”

“Two [Mi-]24s and one [Mi-]8 arrived. They are flying over our checkpoint and shooting at our checkpoint,” the report continues. “There are lots of corpses there. We were dousing the burning BMP [infantry combat vehicle], we thought the Mi-8 was going to pick up the bodies. Now they are shooting.”

Ukrainian troops use their helicopters in the fight against the local armed militias opposing Kiev’s rule to destroy hardware damaged in the clashes to prevent it from falling into the hands of the militias. Miscommunication among the troops could have led to the aviation command believing that the checkpoint was taken over by the militias.” http://rt.com/news/161044-ukraine-helicopter-checkpoint-attack/

” The attack may not have been a militia raid, but rather a case of friendly fire, in which one pro-Kiev unit mistakenly attacked another unit.

The battle left at least 16 Ukrainian troops killed and 30 others injured.”

Detta anser jag vara fullständigt nonsens. Att det var pro-ryska styrkor som slog ut vägspärren är jag övertygad om. Idag har andra liknande attacker skett, då har de första ”gröna männen” synts i bakgrunden. Se nedan i twitterflödet.

ITAR-TASS: Kiev hopes for dialogue with Russia after May 25 presidential elections — Ukrainian FM

“Kiev hopes for a dialogue with Russia after presidential elections scheduled for May 25, Ukrainian parliament-appointed Foreign Minister Andrii Deshchytsia has said.

Commenting on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s speech at St Petersburg International Economic Forum, Deshchytsa said, “We will laud Russia’s concrete actions on recognising the Ukrainian government and improving a dialogue with the legitimate government and president.”

“We hope that Russia’s statements will be proved by real steps,” he said after meetings with the Danish, Estonian and Norwegian foreign ministers on Friday.

Danish Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard said Europe would welcome the real change of the situation.

President Putin said Russia would respect the will of the Ukrainian people during the May 25 presidential election but will keep watching closely what’s going on in Ukraine.

It would have been easier for Ukraine’s opposition to reach an agreement with President Viktor Yanukovych, who “was ready to agree to everything”, at the very start of the conflict so that the legitimacy of the forthcoming elections was not being called into question, he said.

“Honestly, Ukraine has no right to elect a new president because it still has the incumbent president who was illegally ousted from power,” Putin went on to say.

He explained that Ukraine’s Constitution mentioned only four reasons for removing the incumbent president from power: death, illness, impeachment and personal resignation request.

“None of those things actually happened in Ukraine,” Putin said.”

Putin säger ovan att grundlagen i Ukraina inte medger att man ersatt Yanukovych. Här nedan är beslutet som fattades i det Ukrainska parlamentet Verkhovna Rada den 23 februari.

Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada №764-VІІ of 23.02.2014 «On conferring powers of the President of Ukraine on the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada according to article 112 of the Constitution of Ukraine

“Given that President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych withdrew from performing the constitutional powers

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine hereby resolves:

1. To confer the powers of the President of Ukraine on Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Turchynov Oleksandr Valentynovych according to article 112 of the Constitution of Ukraine.

2. The given Resolution shall enter into force upon its adoption.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada                                                                                О.TURCHYNOV”

Acting President of Ukraine: Address of the Acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov to the compatriots

“Dear compatriots!

Presidential elections will be held on Sunday, May 25.

For the past three months our enemies have been doing everything possible to destabilize the situation in the country and disrupt the election process. However, the Ukrainians turned out to be stronger and wiser.

The government, on its part, did its best to prevent disruption of elections so that the election campaign was held fairly and transparently, without the use of administrative resource and pressure on voters in order to secure the possibility of all Ukrainians to elect a decent President.

Today we build a new European state, the basis of which was laid by millions of Ukrainians who proved that they are able to defend their choice and their country. We will never again allow depriving us of freedom and independence, or turning our Ukraine into a part of a Post-Soviet empire.

At present, we are creating an efficient army, we have started reforming the law-enforcement system and the judicial authority, and we are laying foundation of a new economic model of our country.

On May 25, having elected a President, we will complete formation of a legitimate and responsible authority in Ukraine. We will finish cementing foundation of our state.

I ask each of You to come to the election precinct and vote for the candidate You trust.

I believe that jointly we are able to turn Ukraine into a democratic and legal state, where it will be safe to live and bring up children, where the authority will be accountable to people and the country will work for its citizens.

Let us remember: today the future of Ukraine depends on the civic position of each of us!

May God bless Ukraine, You and Your families.”

Mobilisation starts in self-proclaimed Donetsk Republic

“In response to the intensification of combat actions, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has launched mobilisation. The DPR press service told ITAR-TASS that recruiting stations were opened on Friday where men aged from 19 to 40 years must turn up. On Thursday, martial law was declared in the neighbouring self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) and total mobilisation of men aged from 18 to 45 years was announced.

Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Valery Gerasimov stated at the third International Security Conference in Moscow on Friday that the conflict in Ukraine had actually grown into a civil war. He said that the Russian Defense Ministry had at its disposal the facts of participation of private military companies in the events in Ukraine.

Appointed by the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (parliament) Prime Minister of the country Arseniy Yatsenyuk believes that nothing will prevent Ukraine from holding the presidential election on May 25. Head of the special operation in the east of the country Valentin Nalivaichenko for his part promised that the Ukrainian security agencies would not conduct active operations on the voting day. Kiev authorities at the same time admit that it will be impossible to open part of polling stations in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Ukrainian Central Election Commission’s (CEC) press secretary Konstantin Khivrenko said on Friday that of 34 district election commissions that have been created in these regions 20 remain blocked by armed people.

In the opinion of the Russian military and foreign political leadership, “a colour revolution” is being implemented in Ukraine by the West.” Läs hela artikeln på http://en.itar-tass.com/world/732985
